VIDEO & DESIGN

The most important thing to me when creating a video is finding a story to tell, whether it's for entertainment, informative, or persuasive purposes. I have shot simple, fun stories about a puppy growing up, to more serious content like a video to persuade people to keep our Bay safe. I was also co-producer and cinematographer on an apocalyptic short film. Most recently, I have been shooting and editing videos for Providence Hill Real Estate, to boost social media presence with testimonials, agent profiles, and local business features. I shoot video with a Sony a7iii (primarily), Canon C100, or iPhone Xr and edit in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.

I also have experience as Technical Director (and Floor Director and Production Assistant previously) of JMU's weekly live news broadcast, and you can see our shows here.

During this period of social distancing, I worked as the Video Production Director to put together River Road Presbyterian's online church service each week. You can view past services here.

This short documentary follows the co-founders of new business, Well, as they prepare for their first farmer's market pop-up shop. I co-produced and was shot this film. I also cut together the preliminary edit and assisted with graphics.

Come and Get It is an action scene that demonstrates my proficiency in editing in Final Cut. I was given footage and a script, and then I chose the best takes, cut it together, added effects in After Effects, and added SFX and music.

I've lived with nursing majors each year of college, so I decided to dig a little deeper and ask 1st semester nursing student, Bre Faulkner, about her experience.

Learning the basic elements of design has been very important to me. I have learned what draws a viewer in, what guides their eyes to what you want them to see, and ultimately to what I want them to think about by using my fundamental knowledge in user experience. I use Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Illustrator in order to make the designs in my head become a reality.
